BLIND RIVETS FOR SHUTTERS

Fastening systems againts weather agents

Case study

Hermetic seal combined with resistance to corrosion and vibration

How many times a day do you open and close the balconies of your windows, or how many do you see on your way to work? Have you ever thought about the bad weather they are subjected to throughout the year?

In this case study we will talk to you about this challenge.

“Our shutters are of excellent quality so they are not damaged by being exposed to the elements all year round: for this the fastening system we use must be equally good.”

THE CHALLENGE

To resist the continuous stresses and the corrosion due to weather agents, the fastening system used in the straps that support shutters must be extremely resistant.

The blind rivet is the solution that many of our customers have adopted, for every type of folding shutter.

OUR SOLUTION

The most suitable blind rivets for shutters are:

  • Stainless steel Saribulb structural rivets: the structural mandrel provides resistance to vibration and an excellent filling of the hole, ensuring a tight hermetic seal; stainless steel provides also better resistance to corrosion. This solution is mainly used in aluminum and PVC shutters.
  • Extra large head blind rivets: the extra-large flange increases the bearing surface on the application, so they’re ideal for soft materials.

RESULTS

Thanks to our technical team we can develop the most suitable mechanical features to provide resistant products.

But still they are architectural elements, which means they must be in harmony with the whole building: for this we do not neglect the aesthetic aspect, and we can supply our blind rivets painted in the color you prefer (RAL rivets).

The most common color is black RAL 9005, but on request we can develop blind rivets of any color, even starting from your own sample.

Furthermore, in the case of strips with countersunk holes, we can also create solutions with countersunk head.
